The cherry blossoms are aflutter. And it’s fabulous.
The world gets so much more playful. Suddenly, we’re celebrating things like goof off day (March 22), fly a kite day (March 27) and Scrabble day (April 13). Oh and International fun at work day on April 1st is a thing too (and that’s not an April fool).
The sun. The precious sun. Finally, an end comes to the extended hide and seek it plays in those pesky winter months for reasons unbeknown to us (actually, reasons relatively well known by everyone). All the same, its return will herald a revival of more than just your floaty floral dresses.
The promise of beach time. I have forever felt at home under the sun. The beach is an enigma for me. It holds my senses. It boosts my mind and lifts my spirit. The way of life really resonates with me. Spring is a reminder that the earth is re-awakening and shortly, heliophiles like myself once again have a licence to ruthlessly indulge their addiction.
Spring tipples are ripe for the tasting. I’ll be having Bourbinis, Mint Juleps, Berry breezes and other decadent spring cocktails to celebrate this Vernal Equinox. Thank you very much.

Open windows. Let in the breeze and let in the light. There is a sound to breeze hitting leaves and birds chirping. We oft forget to listen to nature’s music. Let’s listen to our surroundings again. There’s a beautiful photo right outside your window. Enjoy it.
You can legit wear flowers in your hair. Not just solely reserved for 10-year old girls, oh no. I love adorning my spring attire with a flower behind my ear a-la those Hawaiian Polynesian princesses (an act that risks looking outright preemptive prior to the 20th of March).
All the festivals will have you singing again. And there are so many to choose from. I often just scour through Ticketmaster and pick one at random based on which of my friends are free to go with me. There are also lots of free festivals and parades littered all over the place to further help us enjoy spending time outside.
Al fresco workouts are once again bearable. Who needs a treadmill when you’ve got the great outdoors and a fabulous playlist?
Spring break. Need I say more?
